UCLA sought to modernize its web presence by creating a scalable, centrally managed web publishing platform capable of supporting dozens of administrative units and departments. The university faced challenges with fragmented branding, inconsistent content management, and inefficient website deployment. To address these issues, our team built a solution powered by Drupal and Acquia Cloud Site Factory. This platform enabled UCLA to rapidly create, deploy, and manage websites from a centralized system while ensuring robust functionality, brand consistency, and accessibility compliance.
The first implementation of this initiative launched with the UCLA IT Services department, which introduced a new branded design theme, standardized content types, and dynamic Drupal functionality. Using the new platform, UCLA’s Web Services team gained the ability to spin up new sites efficiently, reducing administrative burden while improving security and performance. The platform’s flexibility allowed for seamless scaling, empowering the university to support its vast network of departments with a unified digital framework.
With plans to support hundreds of websites, this initiative set the foundation for a modern, cohesive, and sustainable web presence. Our team is proud to help kick-start UCLA’s “Drupalization” journey, ensuring long-term scalability and digital transformation for the university.
