Do not enter! Teens only.
What’s the best way to communicate with teens? In their own language, of course! And that means visual language as well. We worked with the team at Salt Lake County Library Services to design a look and feel that would appeal to their audience and provide a long-term, extendable style.
Sketchy fonts, doodle-inspired illustrations, and a bright color palette all work together to provide a sense of youthful energy and exploration. Put that on top of content specifically chosen for teens, and you just might hear a kid say how cool it is to visit the library these days.

Finding a show just got easier.
Since 1842, the New York Philharmonic has played a vital role in the musical life of our nation and the world, performing in 58 countries on five continents. To help concert-goers navigate the wide array of ticket plans, performers, and concert dates, Rolling Orange redesigned the Concerts and Tickets section with a project focus on site architecture review, redesign, content revisions, and the development of an interactive ticket finder.
Finding just the right concert or subscription package previously required patrons to navigate a confusing array of pages and pricing grids. By taking a comprehensive approach to site flow and user experience, Rolling Orange simplified the process of finding just the right show or subscription package.

A library for the 21st century.
The folks in Salt Lake County want you to know there’s a lot more than books available at your local library. Working with their internal team’s information architecture, we helped develop a clean, friendly look-and-feel that showcases everything the library has to offer. Focusing on a clear hierarchy and flexible system, we developed a home page, second-tier landing pages, third-tier directory pages, and a diverse group of content elements that can be carried through the whole site.
An XML-driven Flash banner on the home page adds some movement and polish to the site without getting in the way. We delivered HTML templates and their internal team built the site on their CMS.

Easy access to a wealth of interactive learning.
Keeping Score is San Francisco Symphony’s ongoing initiative to make classical music more accessible to people of all ages and musical backgrounds. Keeping Score starts with PBS television shows that explore the lives and works of Beethoven, Stravinsky, Copland, Tchaikovsky, Berlioz, Ives and Shostakovich.
The website encourages further exploration through a range of interactive exercises. You can conduct Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring” like Michael Tilson Thomas, learn about Beethoven’s use of keys, or try for yourself musical experiments that Ives learned from his father.

A new face for the Humanities Center.
There’s a lot going on at the Stanford Humanities Center. A fresh design, supported by an extensive Drupal CMS backend, supports the Center’s various activities, including a robust calendar and profiling system for Fellows and Speakers. An XML-driven Flash banner adds some life to the site and makes it easy to post the latest news and events. Leveraging YouTube allowed us to include a video section without all the hassle and setup of streaming servers and bandwidth concerns.
We developed a comprehensive set of wireframes to determine content and flow, and then designed a look-and-feel that complements the Stanford aesthetic but still gives the Center their own unique identity. Built with the Acquia Drupal CMS, the site delivers powerful functionality that can be supported by a relatively small team.

A bold leap forward for energy technology.
Coal isn’t a popular source of energy these days. Laurus aims to change that with new technology that turns coal into all kinds of clean energy–without digging it out of the ground. The challenge for this site was to communicate the benefits of this new technology to a variety of audiences. A big, bold design combines the weight of heavy industry with the promise of clean energy.
Working with a geographically dispersed team, we developed the whole site from scratch, including information architecture, all new look-and-feel, a custom XML-driven Flash banner, and an easy-to-maintain WordPress build that ensures the site can grow with the company and stay up to date.
